Browsing and Viewing Ads

Ads posted to the Rummage Wisconsin.com directory are organized into major categories. The front page of the Site contains a link for each major category available on the system. When you click on a link, you are provided a list of subcategories. Click a subcategory link to enter that area of the site. You are then provided with a list of the current ads which are posted to that subcategory.

When reviewing ads, you are provided with navigational links which will lead to various areas of the site. Each ad detail page will provides links to the home page, the major category and the subcategory where this ad is posted. There is also a dropdown menu listing the major categories allowing you to quickly jump to a new category within the site.

You may click on the "home" link in the top level navigational menus at any time to return to the opening page of the Rummage Wisconsin.com directory

Searching by Region

To locate ads on the system that are located in a specific Wisconsin region, you may click the a numbered region in the state region map located in the right side bar throughout the site.

To perform a Regional search of all ads posted, select a region from the region map on the site home page. You may search for all ads posted regionally in a category by selecting a region from the region map on each category's Subcategory page. Finally, you may search for all ads posted regionally in a subcategory by selecting a region from the region map on each category's Subcategory page.

Searching by Keywords

To locate ads on the system that contain specific keywords, you may enter the terms you are looking for in the Keyword Search text box located at the bottom of most pages throughout the directory.

To perform a broad search of all ads posted, enter your search terms and select the option to locate any ad that contains "any of my keywords". This is the simplest of all searches and may return a large number of matches depending upon your keyword entered.

To further narrow your search, you should select the option to find "all my keywords" in an ad. This will only return ads which contain every keyword you have entered into the keyword text box area. For example: Entering the keywords Rummage Sale would return all ads which contain the keyword Rummage Sale. However by entering the keywords Kids Clothing, only ads containing the keyword Kids Clothing would be returned.

By performing an advanced search, you are able to further narrow the choices of ads you wish to find. You may specify the following criteria.
